This is the section of Words in Mind where I get to show off some of my work, what that will be is, like clouds, hard to pin down from day-to-day. For me, writing is a way of thinking, bringing order to thoughts, exploring an idea and painting a picture with words from that.
Some examples of searching through ideas in poetry.
Sunday 22 March 2015
Speeds this way by morning wakes,
By birds that sing and fly,
Give up night for light of day,
Across every ounce of sky;
Routine takes hold as unfolds the plot,
In such unremarked in ways,
Leave behind the equinox,
Spring forward for warmer days.
The light sets in simulated warmth this time,
Seen Daliesque through mirrored limbs and the elephant needles eye,
Shepherding forth the approaching night,
Reddening every ounce of sky;
Not without its clear night skies with slumber crescent smile;
Not without its silver dots where belted Orion lies;
Not without seeing through the emptiness of the millions of light year miles,
Only to measure the way to warmer days by every ounce of sky.
