About Words in Mind

Today's Poem Sunday 5 July 2026

  … enough …

and what more is there that is necessary

than to live with nature art and poetry

surrounding time as Möbius would

with an infinite course and source

the resource for it’s never ending cyclical rhythm

and each rounding rhymes as it turns

tying tongues in the twists clearing away

mists to reveal creativity in the midst of nature

coloured hues perform their purpose producing

perfect paintings exhibited to spark emotional

connections no imperfections to see— not just to see

but to feel and would that that would be enough

in nature, in art, in poetry— what is enough?

For inspiration, I took the following quotation from Vincent Van Gogh which I saw while researching for Ekphrastic poetry this weekend. I love Van Gogh as an artist, for his colours, his symbolism and use of motifs. I love “The Starry Night”.

“ … and then, I have nature, art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?”

Vincent Van Goch
